Powder Coating
Powder coating is a dry finishing process used to apply a decorative and protective layer to metal objects. The process involves spraying a fine powder made of thermoset or thermoplastic polymers onto the surface of the metal object using an electrostatic spray gun. The charged powder particles are attracted to the grounded metal object, creating a uniform coating.
After the powder is applied, the object is heated in a curing oven, which melts and fuses the powder into a smooth and durable coating. The curing process results in a finish that is resistant to chipping, fading, and scratches, making it ideal for use in harsh environments.
Powder coating is an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional liquid coatings, as it produces less waste and has lower VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions. It is commonly used in applications such as automotive parts, bicycles, appliances, and architectural elements.
